“How many businesses are there these days that will take the time to listen to their customers' concerns and then actually try to do everything it takes to meet their expectations? I think I found one. Wanting to keep it close to home if possible, I went by word of mouth as well as the internet and looked into Wholesale Carpets & Flooring in Fox River Grove. They not only put up with my perfectionism, but they also seemed to enjoy the challenge. The owner started us out, patiently answering our questions as we looked at just about every sample of carpet and vinyl in the showroom, and then let us take a bunch of them home to compare. Then he sent Tim, his installer, to our house for a thorough consultation. Tim not only took the time to answer our questions, but he also made a couple of creative suggestions for some cool design ideas we had not even considered. After getting an estimate that was quite competitive with the one from a different local installer (who failed our audition), we decided to take the leap.
With 30 years of experience under Tim's belt, and his professional, hardworking crew, I have to say I was not disappointed with the results. They took the time to do whatever it took to satisfy us, and the finished job is everything we dreamed of. Tim proved to be one of those increasingly rare craftsmen who take pride in doing the job right. He and his crew are by far not your average tradesmen, and Wholesale Carpets & Flooring is not your average carpet store. It's difficult at best for smaller, local businesses to hold their own against the big boxes these days. The fact that these guys have been doing it to rave reviews for almost 40 years is a testament to the care and attention to detail we received from Jim and Tim and his crew. They really are that good, and you can see some great examples of their flooring work in the Fox River Grove showroom.
