At Wholesale Carpets we've made green a priority. We have replaced some of the few lights in our showroom that were incandescent with low energy compact florescent. We also feature several products that are green. Renewable resource products like our hardwoods, and even carpet that is made from a corn product, are just the beginning. We also feature many carpets that are made from recycled content or are a recyclable product. You have to do your homework to be green, as there are some common misconceptions about green flooring. For instance, bamboo flooring is considered green because it's fast growing and renewable, but bamboo is a very thin product and the glues and other chemicals used the make the thin pieces into flooring are very bad for the environment, so really a standard red oak floor is more green, more economical and tougher then a bamboo flooring .
